Australia has a proud history of equality, where mateship matters and everyone is entitled to a fair go.
We all want to live in a fair and compassionate society that provides opportunities for all.
However, over time, successive Labor and Liberal Governments have allowed corporate interests to dominate at the expense of the rest of us. While the rich get richer, the gap between the “haves” and the “have-nots” keeps getting wider. Tax cuts for big corporations come at the expense of investment in quality public health-care and education.
This isn’t giving ordinary Australians a fair go.
It needs to change.
We need to change the rules and choose a different direction for our state and our country. One that values equality, care and compassion for our fellow Australians and protects the most vulnerable in our society.
